Ceramics in hydrogen fueled kiln
Junior Specialist at Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials
Gliwice, Poland
About
With the growing demand for hydrogen-based technologies, Łukasiewicz – ICiMB is addressing the needs of the ceramics industry by providing access to a pilot-scale kiln fired with a controllable hydrogen–methane fuel mixture. We are interested both in trial firings of conventional ceramic products to evaluate their performance and behaviour under hydrogen-firing conditions, as well as in investigating corrosion-related phenomena arising from the interaction between non-standard ceramic materials and the atmosphere of a hydrogen-fired furnace. We are also open to collaborative projects focused on refractory performance, atmosphere-material interactions, and the development of ceramic products suitable for future low-carbon manufacturing processes.
