Design and Development of Radiopharmaceuticals: Advances in Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment
Ramón y Cajal Research Fellow at Fundación INCLIVA
Valencia, Spain
About
Our group focuses on the design, preparation and validation of innovative radiopharmaceuticals for molecular imaging, with a particular interest in oncology and translational biomedical applications. We combine expertise in organic and inorganic synthesis, radiochemistry, analytical chemistry, bioconjugation and chemical biology to develop new imaging probes and targeted radiopharmaceuticals.
A key strength of our group is the integration of chemical design with radiopharmaceutical development, from the selection and chemical modification of targeting molecules to their radiolabelling and validation in relevant biological models. We are also interested in structure–activity relationships and medicinal chemistry strategies to improve affinity, selectivity, pharmacokinetics and imaging performance.
Within a PhD network, our group could contribute expertise in the design and preparation of PET/SPECT radiopharmaceuticals, radiolabelling strategies, chelator and linker selection, probe optimisation and translational development. We are particularly interested in joining networks where our radiopharmaceutical expertise can complement partners with strong capabilities in de novo molecular design, disease biology, biological validation, preclinical models, imaging applications or clinical translation.
