About
Fabbrizii was founded in Genoa during the Belle Époque by Giovanni Fabbrizii, a coffee roaster and liqueur maker. In the early 20th century, he created bitters and liqueurs inspired by Italy’s great botanical tradition and by the cultural energy of the Port of Genoa, a crossroads for travellers, spices and international trade.
After the war, the business came to a halt: the laboratory closed and the original recipes were believed to be lost. Eighty years later, a great-granddaughter rediscovered the founder’s notebook, together with original awards and advertising materials, preserved for decades in a cupboard. This discovery marked the rebirth of Fabbrizii, reviving authentic artisanal know-how and reinterpreting it through a contemporary approach to drinking and mixology.
Fabbrizii’s vision of bitters goes beyond the traditional after-dinner ritual. It represents a cultural and gastronomic category: complex, elegant and versatile. All products are crafted exclusively using natural infusions of herbs, roots and spices, with no artificial flavourings or colourings, and through slow processes that enhance balance, depth and drinkability.
Within the range, Amaro Fabbrizii Riserva stands as the purest expression of this botanical craftsmanship and was awarded Best Bitter in the World at the World Liqueur Awards – Bitters, World’s Best, confirming the brand’s international recognition.
Today, Fabbrizii is positioned in the premium craft segment, addressing wine bars, cocktail bars and fine dining, rooted in Ligurian heritage while looking confidently to the world.
