About
Vinum Hadrianum, is a boutique winery located in the historic hills of Atri, Abruzzo, in the heart of central Italy, between the Adriatic Sea and Gran Sasso, which benefits from a unique microclimate ideal for viticulture.
Our city Atri (ancient Hadria), 2000 years ago, was renowned throughout the Roman Empire for producing excellent wines aged in amphorae. This wine, known as Vinum Hadrianum – the Wine of Hadria, was a symbol of quality and prestige, comparable to a modern-day DOCG. It is from this thousand-year-old tradition that we drew inspiration for the name of our winery. We honor the history of our name and our territory through wines with a well-defined varietal character, balanced and very pleasant on the palate, capable of enhancing any wine list.
We are committed to produce wines that honor the rich heritage of our region, using only native grape varieties: Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Pecorino, Passerina, and Montonico. We cultivate organically, obtain low yields per hectare, and maintain minimal intervention in the cellar to bring out the varietal character in each bottle.
Our wine collection features five styles of wine, all dry: pet nat white, still whites, and rosé, all aged in stainless steel tanks, while our orange and red wines age in amphorae and stainless steel tanks.
