Application Lab qualification process

About

The Fluence Ultrafast Laser Application Laboratory (ULAL) is Fluence's in-house application and process-development lab, running since 2020. It exists to answer one question before a customer commits to buying a laser: will femtosecond micromachining actually work on your material, for your part, at your target result?

Customers send samples along with their target outcome. ULAL's engineers test the material's response to different laser parameters, then develop and optimize a recipe — the specific settings needed to hit that result reliably. The customer receives a validated process and a working recipe, along with a written feasibility report, before signing any purchase order.

This removes the internal qualification work most companies would otherwise have to do themselves — typically a 3-to-6 month effort that would require hiring a dedicated laser specialist. In effect, ULAL functions as an outsourced R&D team.

Since 2020, ULAL has completed 500+ projects for 200+ customers across 100+ distinct materials. It's a one of the leading application labs with expertise in ultrafast laser processing. The team of 6 experienced engineers is ready to accept your challange.
