TNO - Dutch Research institute TNO is an independent, public, non-profit research organization that has the mission to: create impactful innovations that boost the sustainable competitiveness of industry and the well-being of society.

TNO conducts research on major societal challenges within a number of key domains, including Sustainable society (energy transition, circular economy).

TNO's work includes contract research, specialist consulting, and licensing patents and software. TNO is also involved in creating spin-off companies to bring innovations to the market.

Biorizon - Shared research center Biorizon was established in 2013 by the research institutes TNO (Dutch) and VITO (Flemish).

Biorizon’s mission is to enable commercial production of biobased aromatic building blocks, boosting biorefinery revenues and providing sustainable materials for the chemical industry.

Since its founding, Biorizon has established several pilot and spin-off Relement. With its established know-how, expertise and infrastructure, it can swiftly develop, scale-up and deliver samples of novel en drop-in biobased building blocks.
