About

DOPS Recycling Technologies develops Direct Carbon Immobilization (DCI™), a thermochemical conversion technology that transforms biomass and complex waste streams into valuable circular feedstocks.

In an oxygen-free reactor at approximately 1,000 °C, the DCI™ process breaks down biomass — from wood and agricultural residues to contaminated organic streams — into two output streams: a high-quality syngas (CO + H₂) and a clean solid residue containing sequestered carbon, minerals, and metals. Unlike incineration, the process generates no significant CO₂ emissions and avoids the loss of valuable materials.

The syngas is directly usable as a sustainable feedstock for the chemical industry, including for the production of methanol, ethanol, and synthetic fuels. The carbon-rich solid fraction has applications as biochar, activated carbon, or as a fossil carbon substitute in industrial processes.

DCI™ is particularly suited for biomass and organic waste streams where mechanical or chemical recycling is not feasible. The reactor operates continuously (24/7) and is designed to be modular and scalable for industrial deployment.

DOPS is currently building its first industrial scale pilot reactor, scheduled to commission in the autumn of 2026.
