OLIBA HEALTHCARE AND PHARMA
Oliba Healthcare and Pharma is a boutique science and strategy advisory firm based in Rome, supporting pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare organizations across the full product life cycle, from early development to market access and beyond. Founded in 2018 by Alessandro Monaco, former Scientific Manager at the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) and NIH-trained scientist, Oliba combines deep scientific expertise with first-hand knowledge of how regulators and payers assess value and innovation.
We help clients turn scientific evidence into access, value and growth. Our core services include market access and pricing and reimbursement strategy, health technology assessment, value dossiers and payer negotiations, regulatory strategy, and budget impact and cost-effectiveness analysis. We also support business development, investment and M&A decisions through scientific due diligence, portfolio assessment and strategic roadmapping for innovative therapies, including advanced therapies and digital health solutions.
Our multidisciplinary team of more than ten professionals brings together scientists, health economists and policy experts, working with top-tier international pharma companies, biotech start-ups, investors, law firms and institutions. We coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder projects that involve corporate leadership, healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, patient associations and public authorities in Italy and across Europe.
What sets Oliba apart is our ability to bridge science, policy and business. Having worked inside the national pharmaceutical system, we understand the frameworks, timelines and decision criteria that shape access in Italy, and we apply that insight to international programs in a rapidly evolving European landscape, including the new EU HTA Regulation.
Our mission is simple: to help innovative medicines reach patients faster, with a value story that convinces regulators, payers and investors alike.
ADAPTHERAPEUTICS
ADAPTherapeutics is a biotech spin-off of the University of Padova developing a new generation of disease-modifying therapies for age-related degenerative diseases, including neurodegenerative, cardiovascular and metabolic conditions.
Ageing and chronic disease progressively reshape how our genome is read and regulated. ADAPTherapeutics targets this process upstream: rather than treating downstream cellular damage, we aim to identify drugs capable of correcting the pathological genomic remodeling that drives disease.
Our proprietary platform starts from human patient samples to define disease-specific molecular signatures, then screens already-commercialized compounds through Drug-seq transcriptomic profiling and advanced computational analysis to find those able to restore a healthy genomic state. By prioritizing drugs with established safety profiles, we can shorten development timelines, reduce risk and accelerate regulatory pathways compared with traditional drug discovery.
Our pipeline includes epigenetic modulators such as vorinostat (SAHA), decitabine and JQ1, which are being validated in pre-clinical models for new indications in age-related diseases. The platform is scalable across therapeutic areas and generates both proprietary assets and opportunities for co-development with pharmaceutical partners.
ADAPTherapeutics is led by a team that combines scientific excellence in epigenetics and genome biology with international experience in regulatory affairs, market access and company building. The company works with a network of leading academic and clinical research institutions in Italy and Europe and is open to collaborations with pharma companies seeking innovative, de-risked approaches to drug repurposing and indication expansion.
We are currently raising our pre-seed/seed round to advance our lead programs toward clinical validation. Our goal is to change the way age-related degenerative diseases are treated, helping people live longer, healthier lives.
