About

Tech4Fem is an Italian non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing women’s health through data, technology and collaboration. Our mission is to help close the Women’s Health Gap by strengthening the FemTech ecosystem and connecting startups, healthcare professionals, researchers, companies, institutions, investors and civil society organisations.

We combine research, advocacy, ecosystem development and cross-sector initiatives to make women’s health innovation more visible, accessible and impactful.

Our main areas of activity include:

• Research and data: We founded and coordinate the FemTech Observatory, an independent, permanent research initiative developed in collaboration with Minerva Lab at Sapienza University of Rome. The Observatory maps the Italian FemTech ecosystem and analyses its organisations, solutions, technologies, business models, funding patterns and barriers to growth. Its gender-responsive methodology aims to address the limitations of investment-driven datasets and make emerging and women-led innovation more visible.

• Ecosystem and partnership development: We facilitate connections between FemTech companies, healthcare organisations, research institutions, corporations, public bodies and international networks. We support the development of strategic partnerships, pilot projects, market-entry opportunities and cross-sector collaborations.

• International collaboration: Through the FemTech Exchange Program and our network of European and global partners, we connect startups and ecosystem organisations across countries. The program encourages peer learning, product feedback, partnership development, market exploration and the exchange of regulatory and technological expertise.

• Events and knowledge exchange: We organise conferences, workshops, roundtables and networking formats that bring together different stakeholders working in women’s health. Our Women’s Health Innovation Forum in Rome creates a shared space for research, innovation, policy, entrepreneurship and responsible capital, while Capital Connect fosters dialogue between FemTech founders and capital stakeholders beyond the traditional pitch format.

• Advocacy and awareness: We promote a broader understanding of women’s health innovation, extending beyond reproductive health and addressing the gender bias that affects research, data, technology, diagnosis, care and access to funding.

• Advisory and capacity building: We work with companies, startups and innovation ecosystems seeking to integrate a gender perspective into innovation strategies, ESG initiatives, data practices and decision-making processes. Our expertise includes gender data, data disaggregation, bias analysis, ecosystem mapping, stakeholder engagement and program design.

Tech4Fem is interested in collaborating with life sciences and healthcare companies, research institutions, hospitals, startups, technology providers, innovation clusters and public organisations.

We are particularly open to partnerships involving research and data collection, validation and pilot projects, technology transfer, corporate adoption of women’s health solutions, internationalisation, innovation programs and initiatives designed to improve women’s health outcomes.

Our approach is based on the belief that meaningful progress in women’s health requires stronger evidence, more inclusive innovation processes and long-term collaboration across the entire life sciences ecosystem.
