Seeking Life Sciences use cases for a meshless CFD/multiphysics solver

ESTECO S.p.A. and the University of Trieste are developing a meshless Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solver that works on an automatically generated cloud of points, removing what is usually the most time-consuming and error-prone step of any CFD workflow: grid generation.

This is especially relevant for Life Sciences applications, where geometries are often complex, patient-specific, or subject to change (vessel walls, tissue interfaces, organ structures), and where traditional meshing can become a real bottleneck or a source of numerical error.

We are looking to connect with Life Sciences organisations — biomedical device makers, pharma/biotech companies or research groups — that face fluid-dynamics or transport-related modelling challenges and would be interested in providing a real-world use case to test and help develop the solver.

Examples of relevant problems include (but are not limited to):

• vascular/hemodynamic flow (e.g. around stents, grafts or aneurysms),

• drug transport and biodistribution modelling (e.g. renal or hepatic clearance),

• respiratory airflow,

• perfusion or bioreactor systems,

• internal flows in medical devices such as catheters or drug-delivery systems.

In exchange, we can offer early access to the solver for testing on your geometries, collaboration on the underlying physics/numerical models, and the possibility of a longer-term R&D partnership.
