About
Fundació Centre CIM (CIM UPC) is seeking strategic partners to develop and transfer advanced manufacturing technologies into practical healthcare, veterinary and industrial applications.
We are particularly interested in establishing long-term collaborations with:
-
Universities and research centres working on biomaterials, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and advanced manufacturing.
-
Hospitals, veterinary hospitals and clinical professionals able to define unmet needs and support application-specific validation.
-
Material manufacturers and suppliers of advanced polymers, composites, bioactive materials and functional additives.
-
Additive manufacturing equipment manufacturers and technology providers.
-
Industrial companies interested in co-developing, scaling or commercialising innovative products.
-
Organisations with expertise in regulatory affairs, preclinical validation, quality management and market access.
-
Partners interested in preparing and submitting joint national or European R&D proposals.
Potential areas of collaboration include personalised implants, regenerative scaffolds, polymer–mineral composites, high-temperature additive manufacturing, multi-material processing, Direct Ink Writing, functional 3D printing and digital manufacturing workflows.
A key opportunity is VETREGEN, a personalised regenerative veterinary implant concept combining a patient-specific PEKK scaffold with a biodegradable and bioactive PCL–bioactive glass phase. The concept aims to integrate mechanical support with progressive biological functionality and could benefit from partnerships in veterinary requirements, materials development, manufacturing, biological testing, preclinical research and commercialisation.
We are open to different partnership models, including:
-
Joint research and technology development.
-
Co-development of prototypes and demonstrators.
-
Access to complementary equipment, materials and testing facilities.
-
Clinical or veterinary validation collaborations.
-
Industrialisation and manufacturing partnerships.
-
Licensing, technology transfer and commercialisation agreements.
-
Joint applications for competitive R&D funding.
-
Long-term strategic cooperation around emerging healthcare technologies.
CIM UPC can contribute expertise in additive manufacturing, advanced materials, process development, digital design, prototyping, project coordination and technology transfer. We are particularly interested in partners who can complement these capabilities with clinical knowledge, biological validation, specialised materials, industrial manufacturing or market access.
Our objective is to establish durable partnerships that accelerate the transition from promising research concepts to validated, manufacturable and commercially relevant solutions.
