Safe Implant Technology (SIT) is a Danish MedTech company pioneering a next-generation biocompatible coating platform – GP5 – designed to make implantable medical devices completely inert to the body.

The GP5 platform is based on a unique gold-polymer hybrid coating that prevents immune reactions, inflammation, and biofouling, ensuring full biocompatibility and greatly extending implant lifetime. The technology enables safer and more reliable biosensors, neurostimulators, and continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) by eliminating the body’s rejection and encapsulation response.

Developed from decades of academic research at Aarhus University, GP5 has demonstrated outstanding performance in preclinical models. The technology can be applied to a wide range of sensor and implant materials using scalable thin-film deposition methods.
