Centre for the Development of Non-Governmental Organisations (CRNVO) The Centre for the Development of Non-Governmental Organisations (CRNVO) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, established and officially registered in September 1999 with the aim of improving the position of civil society organisations in Montenegro and paving the way for greater democratisation of the state and society as a whole. Vision Our vision is of Montenegro as a democratic and civic society, grounded in the rule of law, with active citizens and civil society organisations playing a key role in social development. Mission CRNVO’s mission is to support the development of civil society organisations in Montenegro and to contribute to the creation of an enabling environment for citizen and CSO participation in public policy and the development of civil society. Our vision is of Montenegro as a democratic and civic society, with strong rule of law and active citizens where civil society organisations have a significant role in social progress. Objectives To build the capacity and foster participation of civil society organisations operating in areas of public interest, including: social and healthcare protection, poverty reduction, protection of persons with disabilities, care for children and youth, support to the elderly, protection and promotion of human and minority rights, rule of law, development of civil society and volunteerism, Euro-Atlantic and European integration of Montenegro, formal and informal education, science, art, culture, technical culture, environmental protection, agriculture and rural development, sustainable development, consumer protection, gender equality, and the fight against corruption and organised crime, as well as substance abuse. To support the development of enabling policies for the work of CSOs at both national and local levels; to enhance cooperation between state administration, local government, the private sector, and civil society organisations; to strengthen the financial sustainability of CSOs; and to promote understanding of the role and importance of civil society within Montenegrin society. To build the capacities of public sector institutions for effective cooperation with civil society organisations. To foster the development of volunteerism. To contribute to the development of lifelong learning and non-formal education. To promote transparency, accountability, and overall public administration reform at both national and local levels. To contribute to the strengthening of the rule of law. To support the protection of human rights and freedom of expression. To combat corruption. Our Beneficiaries CRNVO’s direct and indirect beneficiaries include: civil society organisations, citizens, media outlets, donors, volunteers, local governments, national public administration, and private sector entities.
