Matia Fundazioa is a private, non-profit foundation, declared of general interest, with more than 130 years of experience providing social and healthcare services in Gipuzkoa. Its purpose is "to accompany people in their aging process to improve their well-being, generating knowledge and personalized services that promote their autonomy and dignity." FM's goal is to be an agent of social transformation that sustainably provides expert, people-centered responses in the field of aging and disability. Its values ​​are a positive attitude, fluid and open communication, trust, mutual recognition, and cross-functional collaboration. The entity sets the following support challenges: 1: Generate evidence in the development of the care model with R&D projects. 2: Promote the sustainability of the Care Model. 3: Adapt the organization to develop the care model.

About me

Diploma in Social Work, degree in Psychology and Master in “Psychology: Individual, group, organization and culture”. Her doctoral thesis deals with the identification of key issues for the generation of local and person centered care ecosystems. Her work activity has focused on projects for the promotion of technical, social and emotional resources for self-care and care of people in need of care, resulting in the design and development of training programs for the elderly, family caregivers and health professionals. She has also been psychologist of the SENDIAN program of support to family caregivers of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.She is currently developing projects aimed at transforming the current model of long term care towards community and person-centered approaches, with special attention to the construction of caregiving municipalities or neighborhoods. Currently is director of Matia Institute.
