Employment Service of Slovenia - Strand II

ESS is Slovenia's central public employment service, providing support to jobseekers, unemployed individuals and young people, as well as employers and social partners. We operate a national network of labour offices and hold a formal mandate for ALMP implementation across all population groups.

We have direct experience working with Roma jobseekers through dedicated programmes, including Romani Zour – Work Inclusion for a Better Future, which combined outreach, employment counselling and employer mediation targeted at Roma labour market integration. We are aware of the persistent barriers this group faces (like the inactivity trap, importance of cooperation among institutions – including Centres for Social Work, low employer willingness, role of local municipalities, cultural differences …).

• Design of tailored user pathways and activation models

• Employment counselling, job matching and employer mediation services (in collaboration with Roma associations)

• Input for evidence-based, Roma-inclusive Active Labour Market Policy recommendations
