With close to 2000 researchers, 6 research centers in Europe and 70 world class testing platforms and laboratory facilities, EDF R&D is one of the strongest research division in the energy sector in Europe. It covers three areas of research (1) energy transition, (2) climate transition, and (3) digital and societal transition and all activities on the value chain of the energy sector from low carbon generation to services through electrical grid.  

Innovation is a main driver of EDF strategy, creating new services for the customers, boosting the company transformation and making the transition to a low-carbon society happen. Research is the energy that gives life to the EDF Group’s Raison d'être to build a Net Zero energy future with electricity and innovative solutions and services, to help save the planet and drive wellbeing and economic development.
