About me
Ana joined Humanized Solutions in November 2022 as a Patient Advocate Operations Assistant, inspired by her two cousins with genetic conditions. Witnessing their challenges, she recognized the necessity of patient engagement in healthcare decisions. With a humanities background and fluency in Portuguese, English, and basic Spanish, Ana began assisting children with conditions like autism and ADHD. Through this, she perceived a gap in patient input in healthcare decisions.
Passionate about patient involvement, Ana pursued related education at institutions like WECAN Academy, PFMD, and HealthTalk. She's currently part of the EUPATI Patient Expert Training Programme and finished last July the EURORDIS Open Academy School. Ana actively contributes to research, drug development, and patient advocacy. Her roles encompass creating content, leading workshops, and co-designing communication strategies.
Since 2022, Ana has been involved with the CDG & Allies network, APCDG, and World CDG Organization, serving as an international liaison and patient representative. She's also a representative at MetabERN for rare metabolic diseases. Ana remains dedicated to amplifying patient voices in healthcare research and treatment.
