My organisation
About me
I am clinical and diabetes dietitian working as a researcher at biobank.cy - Center of Excellence in Biobanking and Biomedical Research of University of Cyprus; and practicing dietitian at CEDM Centre of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. I am always looking for ways to expand my collaborations in the clinical, research and industry sphere.
I have obtained my undergraduate degree in Dietetics from UWIC, (Cardiff, UK) and I have completed successfully my placements in NHS hospitals in England and Wales. Subsequently, I was registered with the health care professional Council (hcpc) in the UK with the title of Registered Dietitian (RD). Then, I obtained the qualification of ‘Post-experience Certificate in Diabetes’ followed by a Master's degree in Diabetes from GCU (Glasgow, UK). Finally, I have completed my PhD (around nutrition in Type 1 Diabetes) at the University of Stirling (Stirling, UK).
I has published in well-respected international peer-reviewed journals, and has presented at international meetings in Cyprus and the UK. Furthermore, I have published articles in the public press on various subjects. Currently, I am involved in a number of research projects. I have a strong interest in education and since January 2022 I was awarded as Honorary Lecturer at University of Stirling, where I lecture and supervise postgraduate students. Furthermore, since September 2012, I am teaching dietetics in non-dietetic students in a local college.
At the same time I provide consultations at the CEDM Centre of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism in Limassol, with a special interest in clinical nutrition and dietetics, and the dietetic (dietary) management of diabetes.; providing structured education in patients with Type 1 diabetes, and initiating insulin pumps.
