Gdynia Maritime University

Gdynia Maritime University (GMU) has over 100 years of experience in maritime education, nowadays in accordance with international STCW convention and education quality management system ISO 9001:2015. GMU is owner of three training and research ships, including famous tall ship Dar Młodzieży, 25 specialised simulators and dedicated offshore centre with 3 accredited labs. GMU is Polish offshore market leader in the field of environmental surveys and development of environmental, geophysical, geological, and geotechnical documentation for offshore investments as well as carries out common R&D projects and provides research services and expertise for maritime industry and Polish maritime authorities. GMU covers most of the topics related to GMU covers most of the topics related to water, marine and maritime sectors and ecosystems, starting from electrical, electronic, mechanical and civil engineering, navigation, transport, computer science, management, logistic, environmental science, food and nutrition technology. Most of the activities in the aforementioned areas concentrate on marine and maritime issues. Over 700 of GMU employees including administrative staff represents various disciplines, covering maritime technology, environmental research, navigation and its safety, logistics and port operations, many of them with experience of working in the maritime industry.
