At a Glance: Rhoé provides technological consulting in the fields of mobility, transportation, and energy. We design integrated transportation systems or identify opportunities to upgrade existing infrastructure by leveraging data analysis and a deep understanding of real-world needs. We are involved in projects such as smart ship charging, digital tools for cities and logistics, as well as studying transport behaviour in specific environments. Our greatest strength lies in combining engineering methods, a research-oriented approach, and social sciences. Streamline supply chains with data – Leverage real-time analytics to enhance efficiency and resilience. Design people-first urban systems – Prioritize human-centric infrastructure and accessibility in urban planning. Strip the noise, make markets make sense – Deliver actionable insights amid information overloads. Detect disruptions and threats early – Use predictive analytics and AI to stay ahead of change. Optimize energy use to drive down costs – Implement smart systems to reduce consumption and carbon footprint. Current Direct Project: Rhoé takes place in Europort 2025 as a partner and the technical coordinator of the Current Direct project, a Horizon 2020–funded initiative at the forefront of electrifying inland and short-sea shipping. The project tackles key EU decarbonisation and energy transition challenges by developing and demonstrating an innovative, swappable battery system for waterborne transport, alongside an advanced Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) platform, both of which are being validated in real operational conditions at the Port of Amsterdam.
