Switchboards are centralized power station where all sources are connected so they provide the power distribution system throughout the vessel. They are responsible for controlling and monitoring the electrical power supply to all the electrical equipment on board. Switchboards also provide protection against electrical faults, such as overcurrents, short circuits, and ground faults.
