KRATOS

The KRATOS robot is driven by a remote operation assisted by inertial sensors and cameras from the ground station, which allows for easy and accurate tracking of weld seams. It also has a point-to-point wireless connection system, to monitor the robot status and the information obtained from the ultrasonic inspection equipment.

Non-Destructive Testing Equipment (NDT) is Olympus brand, that uses probes with Phased Array and TOFD technologies. Through this way, an integral inspection of the welds is obtained from the external tower side, integrating a thickness measurement function to adjust the configuration remotely, depending on the tower section to be inspected and an encoder that complements the relative robot location system, thus ensuring a better service result.
