About
Despite undergoing rehabilitation, over 60% of stroke survivors continue to experience mobility impairments, which significantly diminish their quality of life and impose substantial costs on healthcare systems. To alleviate the economic impact of stroke, enhancing the effectiveness of rehabilitation is a promising approach—especially given the current limitations. Presently, treatment decisions rely heavily on clinical expertise, and patient progress is rarely monitored using objective metrics.
We propose the development of an intelligent software platform that integrates clinical data with inputs from wearable devices and stroke-specific AI models. This system aims to provide deeper insights into patient recovery, support personalized treatment planning, and improve clinical decision-making. Agilbiomech’s platform is designed to be clinically practical, intuitive to use, and time-efficient for both patients and healthcare professionals.
We have designed a functioning alpha prototype, which needs to be tuned to the needs of clinical settings, so we are currently seeking a clinical partner (clinical center and/or clinician) and key opinion leaders with long-term expertise in stroke rehabilitation to guide the iterative refinement of AgilBiomech’s products.
AgilBiomech is a spin-off initiative from the BioRobotics Group, backed by national and European research funding, and now entering the early stages of technology transfer. With the involvement of a committed clinical partner, we are confident that AgilBiomech’s solution can transform decision-making in rehabilitation, simplifying clinical workflows, reducing uncertainty, personalizing patient care, and delivering cost savings for healthcare administrators.
