About
The mission of Institute for Biomedicine is to foster the biomedical research in the region and through this, to improve individual and population health. Our research teams study factors affecting key health issues to create targeted products, services, or treatments that protect health, prevent disease, and offer new solutions.
The institute has 7 groups:
• Two are wet laboratory groups: Translational Human Models and Translational Genomics.
• Four groups focus on omics and big data research related to the CHRIS study, a population-based study with about 13,000 participants from Bolzano Province.
• The Elsi group concentrates on ethical, legal, and social research.
