My organisation

The Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS) is a leading research institute focused on developing novel anti-infective agents. Established in 2009, it combines medicinal chemistry, natural product research, and innovative drug delivery strategies to address the growing threat of antibiotic resistance. HIPS conducts interdisciplinary research in microbial natural products, drug design, drug transport, and bioinformatics, aiming to advance new therapeutic compounds from discovery to preclinical development. The institute collaborates widely with national and international partners, playing a key role in translational research and the global effort against antimicrobial resistance.

About me

I have a PhD in Chemistry from Montana State University, where I worked across the Chemistry and Biological Engineering departments. I’m currently a postdoc in Medicinal Chemistry at the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research. My research focuses on developing new therapeutic compounds, and I’m passionate about bridging the gap between fundamental science and real-world applications. After several years in academic research, I’m now looking to transition into industry, where I’m excited to apply my scientific expertise and collaborative approach to real-world challenges in the life sciences sector.
