Agro Cedrus is a leading Lebanese enterprise located in Menjez, Akkar, specializing in the production of organic carob-based products and aromatic herbs. Co-founded in 2017, with roots dating back to 1999, the company has transformed family-owned land into certified organic farm, spanning approximately 250,000 square meters. Agro Cedrus collaborates with over 160 local farmers, including 146 carob farmers and 20 aromatic herb farmers, to produce sustainable, high-quality products such as carob molasses, syrup, vinegar, powder, and a variety of dried and fresh aromatic herbs, including thyme, oregano, sage, and peppermint.
The company is committed to eco-friendly practices, employing zero-waste and energy-efficient production methods to minimize its environmental footprint. Agro Cedrus’ operations focus on sustainability and innovation, leveraging modern agricultural techniques and equipment to enhance productivity while maintaining the highest standards of organic certification.
In addition to its core production segments, Agro Cedrus offers value-added services by processing carob for neighboring farmers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive economy in the Akkar region. Its dedication to sustainability extends to its membership in The Switchers Community, a Mediterranean network of eco-innovative entrepreneurs, and its adherence to the UN Women Empowerment Principles, showcasing its commitment to gender equality and social responsibility.
Agro Cedrus employs a team of 17 individuals, including management, skilled factory workers, and farming staff, and continues to play a key role in supporting local communities through economic empowerment and sustainable agriculture.
