Offoro Kimambo

Offoro Kimambo (PhD) is a highly skilled Meteorologist, environmentalist, and climate science expert. He is a member of the academic staff at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), bringing over ten years of experience in teaching, research, and consultancy in meteorology, agriculture, and soft skills for social change. Dr. Kimambo holds a BSc in Environmental Sciences and Management from Sokoine University of Agriculture, in Tanzania, a Baccalaureate Scientiae Honors with a specialization in Meteorology from the University of Pretoria, South Africa; a Master of Science in Environmental Sciences (Agriculture) from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, and a PhD in Environmental Sciences, from University of Venda, South Africa. He has played significant roles in various project activities as a principal investigator, supervisor, trainer, and facilitator at high-level meetings. Additionally, he has worked on multiple assignments with the government and multinational organizations, including USAID in particular Feed the Future program, aimed at creating agents and champions for change in agricultural transformation across Sub-Saharan Africa.

He is also a One Planet Fellowship laureate. In this fellowship he received training in mentorship, coaching, negotiation, navigating difficult conversations, research writing skills, and has completed a virtual course in research and agricultural leadership development in Africa. His expertise in networked and active learning, utilizing information and communication technologies and social platforms, has contributed to his excellent digital pedagogical literacy. His research interests are centered on Environmental Sciences, food systems, weather forecasting, early warning systems, applied climatology, and youth development and engagement in Africa. Dr. Kimambo have published several scientific research articles in international peer- reviewed journals.
