My organisation

Founded in 1981, Kushinga Phikelela Polytechnic was officially opened as a School of Stenography on the year 1988. Then, known as Kushinga Phikelela School of Stenography, the school trained some of the renowned typists and secretaries in higher offices today who have had a positive impact on Zimbabwean administration landscape. The school has thus since transformed itself into a Polytechnic that offers technical courses that competitively meet demand for skilled human capital in Zimbabwe. The Polytechnic, operational with two divisions namely Commerce and Technical, now offers an array of courses under the Engineering, Management, Business studies, Applied Sciences and Arts, and Information communication and technology Departments. In sync with the demands for the 21st century community development aspirations, the Polytechnic is capable of proferring research and development solutions to the current socio economic and environmental challenges affecting rural and urban communities in Zimbabwe. As such, the Polytechnic, with requisite support first from its skilled manpower, its students and the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development is capable of continued transformation so that in the fullness of time, and in line with human capital demands as espoused within the broad framework of the goals of national development and, the need to promote Heritage based Research, innovation and technology development, is thus capable of conducting high impact transformative reserach that meets the needs our communities. The polytechnic has the requisite manpower to easily implement reserach and development programmes within the energy-water and food nexus. The institution has a record of being highly resourceful and will thus take full advantage of its relationship and reputation with key stakeholders to create partnerships and cooperation that will bring about positive change for rural and urban communities in dealing with challenges being faced in the energy-water-food nexus.
