My organisation

The Tigray Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) is a leading institution in northern Ethiopia dedicated to advancing agricultural research and innovation. About me

Awet Estifanos Gebre (PhD), a lead researcher in Animal nutrition and Feeds. He holds PhD in Animal nutrition and feeds focus on dairy nutrition from Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He also obtained his MSc and BSc degrees in Animal Nutrition, and Animal and Range Sciences from Haramaya and Mekelle Universities, respectively. He also attended International Diploma in Leadership and Information Communication Technology for the Knowledge society from Dublin City University. He participated in International Trainings in several countries including Ghent University of Belgium Faculty of Bioscience Engineering for Dairy Nutrition; Entrepreneurship Development from Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship Development; Livestock Products processing and breeding from China. He also attended several training in  computer sciences, data analytical software and accessing electronic journals, and data collection tools, Gender based violence, self-care and trauma healing. He has been also participating in different trainings, national and international conferences like USAID Agents of Change for leadership, Business Process Reengineering. Dr. Awet Estifanos has been playing key roles to consult and train several organizations. He served as member of the steering committee for Livestock, Irrigation Value chain project (LIVES-ILRI) supported by SIDA-Canada. Focal person for several projects such as -value chain for youth and women employment project of FAO. He has been working in different positions in Tigray Agricultural Research Institute. He served as director for livestock research at TARI. He is also served as Center Manager for Axum Agricultural Research Center. He was Instructor at ATVET College and Regional Livestock Research Coordinator. He played key role in the organizational reform for TARI, serving as core process owner for livestock research. His contribution to Tigray Agricultural Research Institute and the livestock is paramount. Currently he is working as lead researcher, regional dairy research coordinator, focal person for Ethiopian Society of Animal Production (ESAP) and focal person for SNV-BRIDGE+ dairy project.
