About me
AYODELE PERIOLA, (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B. Eng (Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure in 2009, MSc degree in Mobile and Satellite Communications from the University of South Wales, UK in 2012, Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Cape Town, in 2017, specializing in wireless radio networks. He was a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa from 2019 to 2022 Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Computer Engineering, Deputy Program Coordinator with the French South African Institute of Technology (F’SATI), and African Space Innovation Centre (ASIC), at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), Bellville, South Africa. His research interests include the design of environmentally friendly and energy efficient computing and communication systems and platforms in non-terrestrial data centers in space, stratosphere, and underwater environments, AI applications in future intelligent communication networks and systems. He’s working on the use of data driven systems to improve the design and functionality of renewable energy systems (RES), incorporating AI-based solutions at different interfaces between entities comprising the grid. He is a member of the African Astronomical Society. Dr Periola is a Y2-rated researcher from the National Research Foundation (NRF), South Africa.
