Agricultural University of Tirana (UBT). It started in 1971, under the name Faculty of Agrarian Economics and functioned as such until 1994, a period which coincides with the complete restructuring of UBT. As a result, the Faculty of Agrarian Economics became part of the Faculty of Agriculture with two relevant departments, the Department of "Farm Management and Agribusiness" and the Department of "Agrarian Economics and Policies". The restructuring, which began in 1994 and ended in 1998, was carried out with the consultancy of the SARA project (American Support for Agricultural Restructuring in Albania) and had as its basic objective the response to the new demands that would be offered by the development of agriculture and the system of agribusiness. In 2007, because of the reorganization of the Faculty of Agriculture, FEA was created, which currently has six departments, the "Agribusiness Management" Department, the "Economy and Rural Development Policies" Department, the "Finance and Accounting" Department, the "Mathematics and Informatics", Department "Management of Rural Tourism" and Department "Foreign Languages". FEA is the largest major unit at UBT, with around 3000 students, 93 members of academic staff and 17 members of academic support staff, and currently offers 16 diplomas for three undergraduate and graduate levels (bachelor, professional master, scientific master, executive master, and PhD). FEA in its composition represents the most important unit of research and expertise in the field of economy and agribusiness. It focuses not only on the scientific and professional education of students, but also on consultancy and the generation of ideas for the development of the agriculture‐oriented economy.
