About

The Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters’ Association (IMMIB) is uniquely suited to contribute to this specific call due to its strong industrial focus on the exact sectors targeted (Energy-Intensive Industries, Steel) and its core expertise in market mobilization and exploitation.

IMMIB represents manufacturers in energy-intensive industries (EII) such as steel, ferrous and non-ferrous metals (aluminium), chemicals, and minerals. This direct access ensures that R&I efforts are grounded in real industrial needs for decarbonization.

IMMIB’s mission aligns with the Clean Industrial Deal by focusing on the Green Economy, Sustainability, and Circular Economy. Crucially, IMMIB hosts the R&D and Innovation Center for Steel, providing a dedicated industrial interface and technical expertise specifically for the Clean Steel partnership objectives.

IMMIB has experience in implementing complex industry transformation through projects like CORALIS, which focused on decarbonizing resource and energy intensive sector value chains via viable industrial symbiosis approaches. This background is essential for projects seeking efficient integration solutions under the Processes4Planet mandate.

For an Innovation Action (IA) targeting market deployment, IMMIB is specialized in developing and executing robust exploitation strategies. IMMIB ensures that technical outputs (reports, technologies, and innovative business models) reach the industrial market through international fairs in Europe, the Middle East, and the USA and targeted B2B events.

IMMIB’s role includes supporting SMEs, carrying out SME innovation support actions, and conducting SME need analysis based on specific sectors (chemicals, steel, minerals). This ensures that the decarbonization solutions developed are tailored for practical uptake by the broader industrial base, addressing potential skill gaps.

IMMIB is experienced in managing complex consortia (acting as Coordinator in previous projects) and can assist the consortium with financial reporting, following deliverables and milestones, and translating results into policy-relevant knowledge. This supports the goal of contributing factual information and evidence to national and EU policy makers.
