Benoît Fouchaq

Benoît Fouchaq holds a PhD in enzymology and an Executive MBA from HEC Paris. After starting his career at the CNRS in Paris, he spent over fourteen years in preclinical research, notably in safety pharmacology at Cerep.

He joined Eurofins Discovery in 2013, where he led innovation and launched, in collaboration with the University of Poitiers, an in vitro program focused on drug–gut microbiome interactions. In 2019, he became Managing Director of Biofortis Europe within Mérieux NutriSciences, and in 2021 acquired Biofortis alongside Institut Mérieux.

With more than twenty years of experience, Biofortis supports scientific projects from design to clinical execution, with recognized expertise in microbiome research, biomarker analysis, volunteer recruitment, and data valorization, and contributes to the development of the European live biotherapeutics sector.
