Cukurova University

Cukurova University, which is ranked at the first 500 in gradation of World's Universities and within the first five in gradation of our country, was founded in 1973. Adana Faculty of Agriculture founded as a part of Ankara University in 1969 and Cukurova Faculty of Medicine founded as a part of Erzurum Atatürk University in 1972 are major education institutions which were united under Cukurova University. The university which had only two faculties in the beginning, has 19 Faculties, 1 Colleges, 11 Vocational Schools, 1 State Conservatory, 4 Institutes and 38 Research and Application Centers.

There are 29 EU projects at Çukurova University for the 2018-2024 period. These projects are in the Horizon Europe H2020- K220-PRIMA categories and focus on agriculture, fish and soil health. Çukurova University is also a partner of EU Erasmus+ 2027 European Universities Initiative Programme Project- European University for Peace, Justice, and Inclusive Societies (EUPEACE)  which is one of the most important projects for universities. The budgetary management of the projects is carried out by the University's Scientific Research Projects Unit.

Çukurova University has also a  “Research and Development Strategies Coordinatorship (ARGES)” which is established to determine and implement policies to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the research ecosystem of Çukurova University and to carry them out in coordination. While the ARGES unit focuses on increasing collaboration between universities, it also takes steps to strengthen the research ecosystem.

Çukurova University currently manages over 300 national and international projects, including those funded by Horizon Europe and Erasmus+. The university also emphasizes Open Science policies and research infrastructure development, positioning itself to lead consortium coordination and strengthen institutional collaborations for sustainable academic growth.
