AGRO-REACH: Advancing Regional Climate Change Resilience through Intersectoral Exchange on Agro-EnviRonmEntAl and SoCio-Economic Shifts

Senior Researcher at BioSense Institute

About

The AGRO-REACH project is designed to foster a transdisciplinary network of researchers and technical staff dedicated to solving the challenges of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus. The core objective is to facilitate the transfer of specialized knowledge between academic institutions (expertise in agronomy, ecology, hydrology on one hand and both economics and social sciences and humanities (SSH)) on the other hand and non-academic partners (expertise in Physics, AI, Economics and Consulting). By rotating staff across these sectors, we aim to bridge the gap in knowledge about costs of non-actions for climate dynamics, extreme events and shifts in agro-environmental conditions e.g. following traditional outdated practices. To revive baseline assessments of ecosystem services and their shifts during the last decade the project will facilitate the pathway to adaptation strategies, including Societal change navigation and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in the agriculture and Green Economy.
