NEXUS - Networked Energy eXchange for User-centred Smart buildings
COO / Member of the Board at Centrum Transferu Technologii – INNOVATIONS Sp. z o.o.
Latchorzew, Poland
About
NEXUS will demonstrate retrofit-first, user-centred smart-building control that measurably reduces energy demand, improves the as-designed vs as-built performance gap, raises Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) scores, and increases grid-flexibility via interoperable integration of on-site renewables and storage. The project follows the Societal Readiness Pilot framing and the HORIZON-IA action logic. It will run at least three pilots across different climates and building types, each integrating ≥3 technical systems (e.g., HVAC, lighting, EV charging) and a demand-response interface to grid/aggregators, with independent measurement and verification (M&V) and pre/post SRI audits. The technical approach “wraps” existing BMS/BEMS with an orchestration layer that enables standard APIs, demand-response signalling (e.g., OpenADR), and privacy-preserving analytics. Societal readiness is addressed through SSH-led co-design, inclusive HMI, and user-segment monitoring, including vulnerable groups. Verification uses IPMVP Options C and D, weather-normalisation, comfort metrics, DR event logs, and accredited SRI assessments per Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/2155.
