About

- Tailor-made experimental campaign for industrial boilers and conventional Waste-to-Energy plants. - Determination of temperature and composition fields in the post-combustion zone of WtE boilers up to 1600 °C by means of suction pyrometers (max 8 probes) of max length 4 m. - Mass and energy balances of the whole boiler and of specific sections. Thermal model of combustion and post-combustion zones (1-D model of the «longfurnace» type). - Determination of average T profiles for flue gas and walls surfaces. Verification of the compliance with the T2s requirement of WtE facilities: flue gas at T ≥ 850 °C / 1.100 °C for at least 2 seconds. - Monte Carlo simulation of the operating conditions of WtE boilers and correlation of T2s with endogenous (measured T flues, boiler load, etc.) + exogenous (waste properties, fouling, …) variables. - Development of algorithms for the online verification of the compliance with the T2s requirement.
