Hydrometallurgy Research Services
Researcher at SINTEF Industry

About
The hydrometallurgy team at SINTEF Industri offers hydrometallurgy research services at laboratory scale to develop, evaluate and optimize processes. We aim for high yield, sustainable, energy efficient and environmentally friendly processes.
With our well equipped laboratory we can investigate processes in leaching, precipitation and crystallization, ion exchange, solvent extraction, cementation, and adsorption. We investigate methods to extract and recover metals efficiently. With the support of various departments and divisions within SINTEF, we can also offer all required analytical services, for solution and solid samples, required in hydrometallurgical research and process development. Such as ICP, XRF, XRD, SEM, PSD, etc We can also offer services to pre-treat materials before hydrometallurgical processing, such as grinding, flotation, smelting and roasting. We can also offer evaluation of beneficiation of the product through processes such as calcination, electrolysis, smelting to produce metallic products.
We are also interested in applying hydrometallurgical processes outside the traditional minerals and metals industry, in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and petrochemical.
The hydrometallurgy team is part of a larger group in SINTEF that also offers research services in carbon capture at laboratory and pilot scale.
