About
Flavescence dorée (FD) is one of the most destructive vine diseases in Europe. With no direct treatment available, early detection is the only effective defence — yet traditional inspection methods are slow, costly, and impossible to scale.
Proofminder has developed an AI model capable of detecting FD symptoms at leaf level using ultra-high-resolution drone imagery at 0.2–0.3cm GSD. In our first large-scale deployment in Hungary, we covered 7,200 hectares of vineyards in a single autumn campaign — automatically geolocating suspected infections and generating detailed maps for inspection teams. The project was carried out in partnership with NÉBIH, Hungary's National Food Chain Safety Office, and AlphaVet, a leading agricultural innovation company.
We are now looking to extend this proven solution to vineyards across Europe, as about 3M of hectares are currently at risk.
