My organisation

Lebenshilfe Austria is an association that has represented the interests of people with intellectual disabilities throughout Austria since 1967. A presidium leads the national umbrella organization and decides on the activities of Lebenshilfe Austria. The organization engages in advocacy at the federal level in the field of disability and actively promotes inclusion and the participation of all people.

About me

Philippe Narval holds university degrees from Kings College London and the University of Oxford.  Between 2012 and 2020 he lead the European Forum Alpbach, Europe’s foremost ‘festival of ideas’ and from 2021-2022 he was founding director of SQUARE at the University of St. Gallen. He writes and lectures on issues related to participatory leadership, transformation and inclusion.  As a columnist he is a regular contributor to the Austrian “Der Standard” and in 2018 published his book “Die freundliche Revolution” on innovation in democracy in Europe. Currently he serves as a secretary general of “Lebenshilfe Österreich”, the umbrella organisation of Austrias largest NGO working for the inclusion of people with disability.
