About me
Alois P. Mhlanga is a Zimbabwean professional currently serving as Director, Division and Climate Innovation and Montreal Protocol. Based in Vienna, Austria, he leads UNIDO's work on promoting systems innovation to address climate change and sustainable cooling challenges; and supporting countries to comply with their obligations under the Montreal Protocol.
Mhlanga's career spans roles in international development, climate change, sustainable energy, and project management. He has lead large-scale projects and programs in sustainable energy, climate adaptation innovation, cleantech innovation, climate financing, sustainable cities, among others. His work aligns with UNIDO's mission to foster inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Mhlanga is an advocate for environmental sustainability and social equity. He actively participates in discussions and initiatives that address the intersection of climate action, sustainable development, energy transition, and environmental sustainability.
