Amira Awad

Amira Awad was born in Cairo in 1979 to an Austrian mother and Egyptian father. She came to Vienna with her family at the age of four. Already during her law studies she was able to gain first experiences in private TV. After graduating, she worked as a lawyer for two years, then as a news anchor and editor for television for a total of 15 years. From 2019 to 2023 she was part of the ORF - ZIB team, where she initially worked as an editor in the foreign affairs department. From 2020 to 2023, she subsequently hosted ZIB Nacht, ZIB 18 and ZIB Flashes on ORF1. Since 2004, Amira Awad has been working as an independent event presenter and consultant. The mother of three children has been a volunteer "Integration Ambassador" since 2011.
