About me
My organisation
As a leading Contract Research Organization (CRO) with over 40 years’ experience, we are uniquely placed to help you design, develop and implement clinical trial solutions for your projects. We help optimize your timelines cost-efficiently to bring your product to market quickly and safely. We support you with fast testing and development processes, enabling you to make safe ‘go/no go’ decisions about your product that are based on the most reliable data. As the leading biometrics CRO with a state-of-the-art Clinical Pharmacology Unit (CPU), we have the resources and expertise to support you at every step.
Our SGS CPU is one of the leading Phase I Units in Europe, conducting complex Phase I -IIa clinical trials, in healthy subjects and as well as in different patient populations. SGS CPU is located on the grounds of the University Hospital Antwerp in Edegem, Belgium and occupies a total area of 6.500 m², in a dedicated, purpose-built building connected to the hospital. Our facility boasts an expansive capacity of 110 beds, distributed across three distinct wards, with specialization in different areas. SGS CPU is specialized in conducting early phase trials, including first in human (SAD, MAD, FE), regulatory (DDI, BE, BA) and exploratory (POC, biomarkers), as well as human challenge studies in healthy volunteers across various therapeutic areas. We also facilitate early phase trials in patients and special populations, depending on the protocol and study requirements.
We have a specialty focus towards trial complexities. These complexities include complex study protocols both in terms of design and execution, complex and individual-based study drug (GMP) manufacturing on-site, complex sample processing (such as PBMC), and complex sampling methods (such as brain fluid, BAL, bowel sampling, other biopsies, etc.).
