JELLYSPACE is a dual-use startup solving the problem that begins in Europe and scales worldwide. When an aircraft is decommissioned, the brokers and dismantlers who take it apart face a structural blocker: the lifecycle data for every part is trapped in 30 to 60 boxes of printed or handwritten records per aircraft. That data is not digital, not standardized, and often not findable. Without a provable usage history and material composition, components that are technically sound cannot be legally resold or recycled, so recoverable value is scrapped. The European Union PAMELA project demonstrated up to roughly 70 percent reuse and recycling by weight and up to about 90 percent recovery by aircraft weight, yet much of that value is destroyed simply because the record cannot be produced.

The European Union (EU) has now made this a deadline, not a preference. The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) makes Digital Product Passports (DPP) mandatory, requiring verified, machine-readable lifecycle data, including material composition and repairability, across the supply chain. Companies without this infrastructure lose EU market access.

The same fragility recurs globally and beyond end-of-life. Supply chains in space, aerospace, and defense fail expensively. A single 2025 launch failure destroyed roughly 2.786 billion euros of value, and today's risk tools remain passive: they describe risk late, integrate poorly, and depend on slow manual decisions.
