Look Up Space

Look Up is a European "SpaceTech" whose ambition is to become a world leader in space safety, security and sustainability. Co-founded in 2022 by General (2S) Michel Friedling, former French Space Commander, and Juan Carlos Dolado, former head of the SSA office of the French Space Agency - CNES**, Look Up** offers advanced expertise in the field of space surveillance and space situational awareness.

In a context of rapid increase in space traffic, high risks due to hundreds of thousands of pieces of space debris and new emerging space companies, Look Up is developing a dual European sovereign capability that meets the political and strategic challenges of security in space (Space Traffic Management) and defense.

It is based on a software component (development of algorithms, software and applications) whose dual and secure platform is called SYNAPSE, on the one hand, as well as on a distributed physical  component consisting of a planetary network of space surveillance radars, the SORASYS 1 operational demonstrator of which is currently being deployed, on the other hand.

Look Up will thus reduce the risk of loss of space infrastructure by 90% by identifying objects as small as a few centimetres, but also, for defence customers, to better detect, understand and characterize threats in orbit.
