FEV etamax GmbH (FEV etamax) was founded in 1997 as a privately-owned SME. Since 2017 FEV etamax has been managed as an independent private limited company within the FEV Group and as part of the FEV.io brand. The FEV Group is a globally recognized engineering and technology company with a strong presence in over twenty countries. With more than 5,600 engineers and technical experts worldwide, FEV delivers innovative solutions across mobility, energy, and aerospace. FEV’s expertise spans traditional engineering disciplines as well as emerging technologies, including software development, systems integration, artificial intelligence, and digitalization.
Within this framework, FEV.io serves as the group’s innovation brand for digital engineering and software solutions. It brings together experts in software architecture, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and machine learning to support clients in building future-ready digital infrastructures.
FEV.io is also the brand under which FEV etamax operates, specializing in software development, (independent) software verification and validation, cybersecurity, and functional safety aspects of systems engineering. it focuses on high-integrity (software) solutions for aerospace, transportation, and scientific institutions.
FEV etamax operates from its main office in Braunschweig, with additional strategic locations in Darmstadt (next door to ESOC), Munich, and Zittau. As of November 2025, the company employs an interdisciplinary team of approximately seventy professionals.

ESA: FEV etamax has performed numerous activities for the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) since the company foundation, covering many aspects of non-embedded software applications, including prototyping, end-to-end test automation, validation and integration, as well as model-based software engineering. FEV etamax also contributes to predictive maintenance initiatives by applying advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Natural Language Processing (NLP)

EUMETSAT: FEV etamax supported the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) in the Integration, Verification and Validation (IVV) of the ground segment for the MetOp-SG program

Large System Integrators: FEV etamax personnel have contributed to the testing and validation of on-board software for missions such as SmallGEO, EDRS, MetOp-SG and CO2M. Additional support has been provided for MTG software product assurance, the EDRS-C AIT department and the ExoMars EGSE team
