AUTOMATED SUPER-FINISHING OF BLADES AND VANES AIRFOIL SURFACE TO INCREASE AIRCRAFT ENGINE TURBINE PERFORMANCE
Aerospace & Defense Business Development Manager at ATLA
TORINO (IT), Italy
About
The objective is to develop the automatic super finishing to be applied to the air foils of turbine blades and vanes coated with TBC in order to optimize the surface roughness and to study the impact on the performance of the turbine of aeroengines. Surface roughness contributes to reduce turbulence, decrease aerodynamic resistance and temperature variations. In addition, the surface super finishing can be used to improve the quality of the surface also for non-coated components, thus influencing residual stress and increasing the duration of the materials, with reduction of the friction and wear at the same time.
