About

The Finnish Meteorological Institute provides expert consulting, training and operational support in weather, climate, ocean and space weather services. Our expertise supports aviation, transport, defence, maritime operations, infrastructure, emergency preparedness and other sectors where reliable environmental information is critical for safety, efficiency and resilience.

Our services can be tailored to the needs of public authorities, international organisations, companies and research partners. We offer support in areas such as meteorological and climate data use, service design, operational forecasting processes, impact-based weather services, aviation meteorology, warning services, observing systems, data access, quality management and user-oriented service development.

FMI combines scientific expertise with operational experience.
