The FARE-Fractionation of AgroRessources and Environment laboratory is a joined research unit between INRAE and Reims Champagne Ardenne University. FARE laboratory develops R&D activities dedicated to the plant valorization into biomolecules for the cosmetic, food-feed, chemistry and bioenergy sectors. We develop white biotechnologies processes using microorganisms and enzymes to fractionate plant components (cellulose, hemicelluloses, starch, ...) and to extract high added-value molecules (polyphenols, anthocyanes, ...) from agro-industrial co-products (brans, straws, pomaces, oilseed cakes, ...). We also focus our innovations onto the biocatalytic functionalization of the extracted molecules to produce polyfunctional biomolecules such as glycosides (sugars esters, polyalkyl glycosides, anti-aging xylosides, ...) and functionalized polyphenols.
