About
The University of Lapland, located at the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland, integrates science and art across various disciplines. Our academic fields include education, law, art and design, social sciences, and northern and Arctic studies. We aim to generate new knowledge, skills, and expertise that benefit the North and the global community.
The Lapland University of Applied Sciences (Lapin AMK) is Finland's northernmost university of applied sciences, with campuses in Rovaniemi, Kemi, and Tornio. It offers practical, work-oriented higher education with a strong focus on Arctic expertise, sustainability, and innovation, and provides many English-taught programs for international students. The university combines scientific research with real-world applications, specializing in fields such as engineering, health, business, and ICT, and leverages its unique Arctic environment for applied research and development (R&D).
